Ethical travel, the TSA, and more: My favorite posts from 2013

Happy new year, everyone! It's that time of year - retrospectives and reflections, and lots of optimism for a new, fresh year. For travelers, that means planning new adventures and prioritizing the places you want to see in 2014. For those of us that watch and analyze travel as much as we travel ourselves, it's a time for looking at some of the big travel trends of the new booking season.

And for me, it's a time to make some big life changes. 2013 wasn't the best of years, and I'm definitely looking for some change in the coming months (to be shared with you all as I learn more!). But for the moment, putting all of that on pause, here are a few of my personal favorite posts from the past twelve months. Not necessarily the most popular (that'll come tomorrow), but definitely the ones that I am proudest of.
