Well, adventurers, it has been one hell of a week - it seems like all of my friends are getting good news this week, and this weekend is supposed to be 70 degrees and sunny! Monday is the Boston Marathon, which I adore (I usually go near the finish line a cheer everyone on and end up crying with joy a lot).
But this year I won't be at the marathon, because that night I am flying to my other home - that's right, the LDN!!! (That is what I call London, I have no idea if that's an actual abbreviation...)
I'll be giving a paper at an academic conference, about dance archiving (buffing up smarty pants glasses, wondering if it is an appropriate moment to imagine myself strutting down Charing Cross Road to "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta"...). And, of course, I've scheduled a few days of fun while I'm there - an old friend's birthday, hanging with my family, and a stupid amount of shopping for sweet Euro fashunz (look out, Primark)!
In the meantime, here are two New York Times links to start your weekend!
A pretty awesome new website that helps you compare fees on different airlines, since nowadays the fees can make or break the affordability of a ticket!
And we have yet another "world's newest nation" - Azawad - now that Mali has decided to split itself in two.
