Suitcase security

Just a quick post to share with you all something I shared with a friend on Twitter today.  Though many of us use luggage locks when we travel (though never on checked baggage in the US, because the TSA will remove them), they are not actually that difficult to get past.  Here is a video of someone using an ordinary ballpoint pen to open a locked suitcase -- and they even reclose the bag.  The owner would never know their bag had been opened!

I generally use a luggage lock on my carryon, especially when I am on a train or bus -- I can fall asleep knowing that my bag, in an open rack above me, will be relatively unattractive to rummage through.  But this video is a great reminder not to lull yourself into a sense of security!
